Experience more Happiness through Gratitude

The Season of Giving and sharing and family bonding is now upon us. I must admit this is my favourite time of year. I am like a little kid, that inner child of mine really comes out. 
A season that really brings to life the blessings in our life.  A reminder to “count our blessings” as we were often told has a child.  But really what does it mean to “count our blessings”?  Only recently have I really understood the true impact of this – of bringing Gratitude into my life.  Which really brings in so much more Happiness into my life.

I have noticed that when I shift my focus onto what I am grateful for, all the fears, worries, and stressors seem to reduce and almost become irrelevant.  How incredible, by just looking outside and seeing the beauty around us, and being grateful for the trees, the rain, the flowers, my family - my stress reduces.  How does this happen?

Many studies over the past decade have found that people who consciously count their blessings tend to be happier and less depressed.  Let me share with you some interesting research to show you how to become happier just by being grateful.

Step out of Stress with Movement

In Brain Gym, we use a four step process called PACE, to shift us out of stress. This enables us to bring the blood flow back into the brain to enable us to do what we do optimally.

For those that have worked with me, you will recall this process. A gentle reminder that when we start our day in PACE, we start the day on a positive and good foot, opening our brains up for learning and shifting out of worry.
