How Iggy Healed His Heart ~ Andrea Riem
I am very excited to share the publication of my children's book (a nice read for adults too).
An inspirational and teaching book to help children cope and understand feelings, dealing with grief, forgiveness and how your thoughts can create your life.
“This is a story about a young swan, Soary, who really wants to help her friend Iggy the Elephant. Iggy trapped himself in his own mind, a world of grayness, and he doesn't believe anything happy or good could come to him. Everything good in his life is taken away from him, so he would rather hide away and be alone. He experienced a terrible loss as a calf and has carried that sadness with him all his life. Then Soary meets a wonderful golden girl, and through a journey with surprising results, they find a way of getting through all the sadness in Iggy's heart and help him see how much he is needed and loved by them and everyone around them. This is a journey from gray into light and rainbow colours.”

Have you read a book that truly moved your heart? As I devoured the riveting narrative in Andrea Riem’s inspired How Iggy Healed His Heart, my Inner Child was alive and well, experiencing anticipation and excitement, weeping with pain for Iggy, the sad elephant, and lifted with joy at the outcome.
A great tree in the reserve falls across the river, diverting its path and endangering many creatures, both on land and in the water. The co-operation of the elephants moveS the trunk and redirects the river back on course. Woven into the narrative is the sadness of Iggy, who lost his parents and his herd through poachers. His anger and aggression had him isolated from other elephants and he has given up all hope. His friend, the swan Soary, helped by Angela, the angel who arrives on earth, and their actions with the other characters, heal Iggy.
Skilfully woven into the story is interaction with the reader which appears natural and unpretentious. For instance, “What do you think would happen if Angela didn’t listen to her intuition?” At several stages in the book readers are invited to help the characters by keeping them calm. (I needed this!) Riem explains a technique from Brain Gym®. It is clearly described and an excellent tool to be used in any circumstance.
This story is about compassion, kindness, generosity, love and working with the forces of nature. It is beautiful, rich and moving. It will stimulate discussion between adults and children and give guidance on dealing with life’s challenges. It comes very highly recommended.
